Issue No. 1: Drawing Sculpture
Artists’ Drawings is an artist-run magazine based in the UK. It publishes drawings made by artists, with a focus on how drawing can be used to develop and articulate ideas. It considers ‘the artist’ to be anyone who engages in a creative pursuit and follows a broad interpretation of drawing and drawings, holding an equal interest in objects made as part of a process and as outcomes in themselves. Led by images and intentions, it combines drawings made today with others from the near and distant past.
The theme for the first issue of Artists’ Drawings is ‘drawing sculpture’. Submissions might include drawings made directly for sculpture—e.g. exploratory sketches, diagrams or instructions for fabrication; representations of sculpture in space or in relation to the body; or drawings by sculptors that inform their thinking in other ways, towards or beyond specific objects. Those interested in submitting are encouraged to interrogate what drawing(s) means to them and their work.
Selected submissions will be published in print in Summer 2025.
Deadline: 23:59 (GMT) on Friday 25 April 2025
