Stu Burke
Stu Burke’s Fold/Unfold drawing series explores a playful method of creating shapes. Through the folding and unfolding of paper, geometric forms emerge. Burke then instinctively draws along the crease lines to highlight one of these formal possibilities.
About the Artist
Stu Burke graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Lincoln and an MA in Fine Art from Teesside University. He is currently studying for a PhD in Art at Leeds Beckett University. Burke is a co-director and curator at GLOAM Gallery, Sheffield, Curatorial Ethics Network (CEN) member, and benefactor of the Roland Orépük association for non-objective art (Aropano). His work has been shown across the UK and internationally. Recent exhibitions include Colour Play (General Practice, Lincoln), Momentary Sculptures (Gloam Gallery, Sheffield) and If It Thunders on All Fool's Day (Eastside Projects, Birmingham).
